School Recycler of the Year
Chase Street Elementary School is a very “recycling” conscious school, with students, teachers, staff members, parents, and community members all involved in the recycling efforts. Their Partners in Education also help with recycling efforts. It is not uncommon to see a grandmother come in with hundreds of plastic bags with her grandchildren. It is also not uncommon to see their cafeteria staff taking load after load of recyclables out to the recycling bins. Every classroom has paper recycling, so trash cans have very little in them at the end of the each day. Chase Elementary students ask “Can this be recycled?”, and is truly concerned about the environment and raising students who care about the world in which we live!
